Developed by artists Heather and Ivan Morrison in conjunction with EMP Projects and Chapter Arts Centre, the new permanent public artwork will be unveiled on Saturday 12th September.
Love Me or Leave Me Alone is a carefully crafted sculpture, as well as the artists' first permanent building in the United Kingdom, intended to function as a unique food and drink kiosk.
The artists intend that the kiosk will provide local employment as well as offer up an unexpected food and drink experience that reflects and plays on the diverse multi-cultural origins of many of Cardiff's residents. Following the installation of the artwork, the artists, Chapter and Igloo will reach out to wider local communities to find partners for the successful long-term operation of the kiosk.
Mark Hallett, Development Director of igloo Regeneration - the developers behind Porth Teigr said: "We're pleased to announce the installation of Love Me or Leave Me Alone which is set to become a positive addition to the wider Porth Teigr site.
"As part of our commitment to sustainability and our community, we work hard to support local initiatives and we look forward to seeing everyone enjoy the new project."
The work will be unveiled on Saturday 12th September 2015 from 1pm - 5pm, speeches at 2pm, Porth Teigr, Outer Lock Crossing, Cardiff CF10 4GA.
The community engagement programme will commence in spring 2016.
