Igloo specialises in delivering mixed use, sustainable development projects across the UK. We've been doing it since 2002, when the United Nations described us as the 'world's first responsible real estate fund'.
Development at Porth Teigr will embrace our sustainability principles - not just because it's true to our Footprint® philosophy (see About Igloo), but because we know it's good for occupiers and end users too. Sustainable buildings cost less to run, and we believe will hold their value better than energy hungry, unsustainable buildings.
Sustainable development is also important to our partners, the Welsh Government, who set out their vision for a Sustainable Wales in their Sustainable Development scheme, here
We'll work with occupiers to help ensure the properties we build for them are truly sustainable. We know how to do it, and we can share the experience - just as we have done with BBC Cymru Wales' Roath Lock studios at Porth Teigr which has achieved the highest BREEAM rating - BREEAM Outstanding. We worked closely with the BBC to achieve this certificate which is the first for an industrial buidling post-construction in the UK and marks Roath Lock studios as the largest building in Wales to achieve BREEAM Outstanding.
Our approach to sustainability is enshrined in our Footprint® policy. Click on the link below to read it.
